Top 5 Boston Photography Locations
Searching for the perfect location in Boston to take your clients? Look no further, I've got some great spots around the city that are sure to do the trick!
Revere Beach
A lot of people have negative things to say about Revere Beach, but those people probably haven’t been stuck in the city with no where to hide from the pandemic summer heat. I’ll be real, it’s not the most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to, but you cant beat the proximity to the city! Ive spent many summer days on Revere Beach, swimming and tanning with my friends, but I also love to have sessions there at sunset! You might even catch an airplane in a shot or two!
*editors note: airplane seen below was photoshopped in but it was taken from a different photo from the same session so its not cheating right???
2. Charles River Esplanade
I’m sure I won’t be the first to recommend the Esplanade and I definitely won’t be the last. If you can snag street parking, or are close enough to walk, the Charles River Esplanade is one of my favorite spots in the city to just hang out. It also happens to be perfect for portraits of any kind! Between the water, city views, and cherry blossom trees, you cant go wrong no matter which direction you place your client!
3. Boston Public Gardens/ Common
One of my first shoots in Boston was at the Public Gardens and I will always love that location for that reason. BUT despite my bias, it really is a perfect place to have a photoshoot. There are so many different options for scenery and since its in the middle of the city you can get both park shots and city shots. Theres even a really cool bookstore (Brattle Book Shop) right around the corner that I am OBSESSED with! Also super close to the infamous Acorn St.
4. Boston Harbor Walk
Not only does the harbor walk have great water views, but a few steps down the street will give you a perfect view of the Zakim Bridge! A friend in Charlestown brought me to this spot for their session and I’ve been dreaming about going back ever since. Plus there’s plenty of great restaurants nearby for after the session! Might I recommend Night Shift Brewing?
5. Fan Pier/ Seaport
Fan Pier is all the rage for photographers in Boston, however almost anywhere along the seaport can make for a really nice photo. As you can tell, I’m always looking for locations with water views, and in a city that can be hard to come across, but luckily Boston is locked and loaded! Plus, if you’re already in the area, you can hit the aquarium before your session (or convince your client to do the session at the aquarium! (is that allowed??))
